Dear Friend,

Belize is a truly remarkable country that never ceases to amaze. For all its beauty, amazing culture, and abundance of natural attractions, it is also taking steps to reduce pollution in our oceans and we think that is fantastic.

Christine Lloyd, our very own intern at Grand Baymen, loves snorkeling and exploring the barrier reef in Belize. She gives us her perspective on the incredible biodiversity and vibrancy of marine life in the crystal clear waters that so many inhabitants call home.

While staying in San Pedro either on vacation or permanently, having a golf cart can prove to be the most desirable means of getting around the island. You may want to try before you buy, so to speak, and renting a golf cart initially will help in your decision making process. Betsy Rosenlund cuts to the chase to help us all in the golf cart buying process.

And for all you golf cart rental enthusiasts, Betsy elaborates on some very important tips for renting, driving around, and general safety and care for your golf cart.

Belize is not only a beautiful country, it is a country rich with cultural traditions. Tourists flock to this Central American country for many reasons. The Maya culture is one of those reasons since it is one of the largest ethnic groups in Belize. You will experience some of the wonderful Mayan culture in the food, the people, and also in the landscape.

Aside from climate change, plastic pollution has become the number one environmental issue for the entire globe. That is why just last month, the government of Belize approved a proposal to reduce plastic and Styrofoam pollution by phasing out single-use plastic shopping bags, Styrofoam, and plastic food utensils by April 22, 2019. We are very grateful to you Belize and hope many other countries will follow your lead.

Until next time,
