The Apprentice is a popular television show around the world, and Belize has got its very own adaptation of this entertaining program, which is about to enter its second season. Â One extremely lucky local man from San Pedro Town is to appear on the new show, competing against a number of other candidates to win a job opportunity with one of the countryÂs most prominent banks.
In the second season of The Belize Apprentice, which is set to air this month on Channel 5, local man Pablo Garcia will see if he can make the cut. Modeled after shows that are broadcast on both UK and US television channels, the Apprentice follows a group of people trying to show their credentials and skills in order to gain a great job. Â In the US, the candidates work to impress Donald Trump, with the winner eventually working in one of the millionaireÂs many companies. Â Here in Belize, the winner gains the chance to work at The Belize Bank, complete with a very attractive salary and the prestige of winning the show itself.
Not one to miss out on the chance of a lifetime, Pablo Garcia, 21, has taken it upon himself to apply and compete against others across the country.  An aspiring photographer, Garcia also has an AssociateÂs Degree in Business Administration; a skill that he hopes will help his progress through the competition.  After preliminary interviews took place on February 12th, Garcia was offered a place on Friday February 14th as the final candidates were selected.  ÂI was accepted for this show and I will proudly represent our beautiful town San Pedro as the #1 Island in the world, he explained.
For the duration of the competition, the participants of The Belize Apprentice will be staying in Belize CityÂs Renaissance Towers. Â In each round, the individuals will be tested for their marketing, creativity and sales prowess, whilst also having to work under extreme pressure. Â Teamwork will be very important in every task, as will the need to showcase their own skills, making the competition an extremely difficult balancing act. Â Each week, one project manager for each team will be selected, with the losing team having a member fired until there is only one man or woman left standing. Many people in San Pedro will be supporting Pablo Garcia in his attempt to win this popular show.
