We had heard of Belize and the fact that it had the second largest barrier reef in the world but really had no clue where it was exactly. So, when we received the invitation to attend the January 2010 Grand Baymen Belize Chill Weekend, we could not turn it down. With the anticipation of fun in the sun we packed plenty of t-shirts, shorts, sandals and snorkeling gear.
Ann had provided excellent instructions on getting to the Exotic Caye Beach Resort on Ambergris Caye and we had no problems as Belize is an English speaking country and everyone was very helpful. The accommodations at the resort were right on the beach, very nice and included a pool and lively outside bar (just steps from one’s room).
Ann and her husband Mike were excellent and fun hosts. So, not only did we receive a detailed overview of the investment and living opportunities in Belize, but also got to have a great time with them while we were being shown around the town of San Pedro and other parts of Ambergris Caye.
Although it rained one day and was the coldest weather in 30 years, we still had an exciting time and were undaunted as the potential of Grand Baymen, the beauty of the Cayes and reef, the friendliness of the people, and location to all of Central America made the decision to become a property owner very easy.
We are really looking forward to going back to Belize’s Ambergris Caye to enjoy our new condo at Grand Baymen, to have more fun times with Ann & Mike and explore other parts of Belize and Central America.
