While the town council elections may still be a way off, the Peopleís United Party (PUP) have decided to get a head start, getting their campaign efforts initiated well ahead of any election. In 2015, the town council elections will be held, followed by general elections in 2017.

Ambergris Caye is a Caribbean paradise isle administered by Belize. This island of flat coral sand is some 25-miles in length and is the most southerly part of the Yucatan Peninsula. It has the expected warm Caribbean climate but does benefit from refreshing and cooling sea breezes. To the east the island is protected by a coral reef that runs for 185 miles along the Belize coastline.

The San Pedro Belize Fitness Club exudes a “country club” feel amidst stunning, contemporary architecture. The 250,000 gallon, multi-tiered pool is the largest and deepest on the entire island. Classes in Tae Bo, Tai Chi, aerobics, and yoga complement the equipment offered in the fitness center. Many other activities are possible here as well. There are two well-lit tennis courts, volleyball courts, ping ping tables, and even a course for miniature golf. When the day’s exercise is complete, visitors can relax with a drink alongside the pool or up on the rooftop terrace.The club also includes a restaurant and grill poolside. It is also a popular destination for parties and special events.

Belize City is one of the top spots worth a visit, and there is no end to the culinary delights that foodies will uncover. For something elegant and upscale, try Harbour View. An unusually fun twist on dining will be found at Stonegrill, which is an eatery where guests cook up their own dishes on hot volcanic rocks. For a glimpse into the local culture, head the traditional Creole restaurant called Dit’s and sample their boil-up, or munch on conch fritters at the Wet Lizard.

Thankfully, Belize has both. The tourism industry is a large portion of the economy, and there are no signs that it will begin to slow at all. The island in Belize boasts tropical weather, affordable real estate, beautiful scenery and great community activities. Ever since its discovery in 1937, Caracol has drawn thousands of tourists from all over the globe to Belize. This huge Mayan settlement even outdoes the more well-known Tikal, with a more dense arrangement of structures and artifacts for you to see. The huge area it comprises is larger than Belize City, and in its heyday, Caracol is believed to have supported an even larger population.

The country boasts luscious rain forests, stunning beaches, historical places and unique marine life. Despite the flock of tourists visiting the country every year, it remains well-maintained and preserved.
