Moving abroad can be an exciting adventure but one of the things many expats want to know about before they retire in Belize is whether the healthcare quality is good or not - Belizean healthcare overall, is very good.

People Often Ask "Where is the Best Place to Get Healthcare Overseas?"

There is no easy answer to this question, as there are many factors involved, such as what people need and what they expect. The US has some of the best doctors and medical experts in the world, and for major surgery or professional consultations, some Belizean expats might consider flying back to North America. However, depending on where people live in Belize, there is adequate healthcare.

Finally, there is also the factor of cost to consider; however, there are perks to be found here too, because in the US health care tends to be higher. In Latin America, for example, expats can expect to pay between 25 percent and 50 percent of the cost they would have paid at home for health services.

It is extremely important to consider healthcare options when moving abroad. However, for those who are worried about receiving low quality care and accessing local doctors, many statistics actually show the opposite is true.
