With Christmas almost upon us, the residents of San Pedro Town are getting into the swing of festivities with style. Â At this time of year, both children and adults are excited about the chance to spend time with their family and enjoy the gifts that are given. Â To get into the spirit, the third Annual Christmas parade was held by Love FM, giving participants and spectators a moment to enjoy lights and other Christmas-themed decorations as they made their way through the streets of San Pedro.

Love FM is one of Belize’s most popular radio stations, listened to by many people across the nation.  On December 8th, the organization held their third Annual Christmas Parade in San Pedro, with revelers walking from Boca del Rio Park all the way to Central Park.  While the original parade was just a small motorcade that was celebrated during the traditional 12 Days of Christmas, the parade has grown each year, with more and more people either watching or actively taking part.  It is the second parade to be sponsored by Love FM, with another Christmas parade also taking place in Belize City.

The Christmas parade, as always, was a great success.  As the parade progressed, the streets of San Pedro were filled with merriment, music and lights to dazzle those wanting to see this Christmas festival.  Many people joined the parade, taking the opportunity to decorate their floats and vehicles with festive themes, with residents, local organizations and San Pedro’s establishments all getting in on the action.  The front of the parade was highlighted by the wonderful red shiny truck of the San Pedro Fire Department.  They placed Santa on top of the carriage to make an even larger impact as they made their way through the town.  As he went, Santa waved at the crowds and threw candy down to those who lined the streets to watch the parade go by.  He wasn’t alone either, as numerous other Santas and Christmas elves rode in other carts and floats, bringing cheer to everyone involved.

The third Annual Christmas Parade sponsored by Love FM was enjoyed by all, with many people taking the opportunity to get into the spirit of Christmas. With Christmas Day just over a week away, for many, the fun is only beginning.
