In a brand new event thatÂs set to dazzle San Pedro Town on an annual basis, the first Miss Holy Cross Pageant has crowned its winner. Â On Wednesday December 4th, spectators packed out the San Pedro Lions Den as the audience craned to see just which of the young girls would claim the top prize. Â The pageant could well become a regular addition to the San Pedro Lions Pageant, which crowned Arlethe Lima on November 23rd.
In the eventÂs first pageant, there were five girls competing for the crown and the chance to win this brand new title. Â The girls included Cindy Dominguez, Jenniffer Ramos, Yeimi Lara, Midiam Torres and Breanna Amaya. Â The festivities were brought to life with DJÂs Kareem and Debbie, who kept the music flowing throughout the proceedings. Â Meanwhile, it was left to Mr. Angel Nunez to take on the important role of Master of Ceremonies and guide the girls, judges and audience through the exciting event.
With a large number of enthusiastic fans, each rooting and supporting their favorite girl, each of the participants modeled gorgeous evening gowns, and a favorite sports outfit. Â In addition, they also performed a short dance routine to wow the judges and spectators. Â Judging the event was local Miss San Pedro, Solani Graniel, along with Ms. Odelia Caliz and Mr. Mauricio Mejia. Â After dazzling everyone in the final section of the contest, the evening gown round, there was a short question and answer segment. Â All five girls handled this with poise and grace, before then standing back and waiting for the votes to be tallied.
With everyone waiting anxiously to hear the final results, it was revealed that the first ever Miss Holy Cross Anglican 2013/12 was to be Jenniffer Ramos. Â The second place went to Midiam Torres, whilst Yeimi Lara came in third. Â Meanwhile, Jenniffer Ramos also won Miss Amity; a prize and title given to Jenniffer by the contestants themselves.
During the event, MC Nunez thanked the many sponsors who had come together to fundraise for the event and support the Holy Cross Anglican School. Â These included PirateÂs Pizza, Maya Island Air, AnnieÂs Deli and Caye Supplies. Â The event was a huge success and itÂs hoped that it will become a highlight of the December calendar.
