The Miss San Pedro Lions event is a popular annual celebration that many look forward to, both those who participate and those who want to attend the evening. Â On November 23rd, several beautiful ladies took to the stage to try and win the title, with Arlethe Lima being crowned Miss San Pedro Lions Queen for the year 2013/14.

Every year this popular San Pedro Town event is held to give local girls the chance of being the San Pedro Lions Queen.  In 2013, four stunning ladies vied for the title, taking to San Pedro High School’s Angel Nunez Auditorium to wow the crowds and impress the judges.  Hosted by the San Pedro Lions, the ever gregarious John Palacio was the Master of Ceremony, helping to bring a fun and enthusiastic atmosphere to the evening.  The four contestants were each sponsored by local businesses, with Hummingbird Rattan Furnishings backing Miss Erica Bodden and the Cayo Espanto Resort sponsoring Miss Julissa Trejo.  Meanwhile, Miss Arlethe Lima was sponsored by Rojo Lounge, whilst Caribena Enterprises backed beautiful teen, Catline Benguche.

Opening the show with a dance presentation, the four competitors were joined by the current San Pedro Lions Queen, Alexis Del Valle.  Mr. Palacio from LoveFM introduced Mrs. Yoli Rivero, Ms. Natasha Stuart, Mr. Johnny Grief, Dr. Giovanni Solorzano and Ms. Brie Harding as the competitions’ five judges.  In addition, formal tabulator, Mrs. Pat Grief, was also in attendance.

The evening was filled with dance and treats for the audience, with the San Pedro Dance Academy kicking things off with a Middle-Eastern-style dance whilst the contestants prepared for the Island Wear modeling segment.  Each girl was then offered a short time to perform, with both Ms Benguche and Ms Bodden performing dances.  Ms. Trejo acted out a circus ring-leader-themed extravaganza, whilst Ms. Lima performed a short dance and Helen Keller dramatization.  While the contestants changed into eveningwear, last year’s winner, Ms. Del Valle then took to the stage, before a short question and answer section.  Finally, after some deliberation, Ms. Arlethe Lima was crowned.

The entire night was a complete success and enjoyed by all those in attendance.  San Pedro Lions Queen Arlethe Lima will now attend public Lions functions over the next year whilst also becoming the club’s beauty ambassador.
