Every year the Holiday Hotel hosts an annual Halloween party, and each year, the costumes on show are said to be the best ever.  This year, the partyÂs attendees have done it again, creating a spooky range of Halloween costumes better than ever before.  Lisa McCorkle Guerrero said ÂEvery year I say, ÂThey canÂt possibly get any better  and then they do!Â
The annual Halloween event is one of the Holiday HotelÂs largest celebrations, and people living in Belize flock to the festivities that the night brings. Â Everyone seems keen to outdo the costumes from previous years, with individuals dressed in a variety of outfits, from pretty and sweet ensembles to outrageously and ghoulishly-themed creations. Â On Saturday, October 26th, the traditional orange carpet was rolled out once again to get people in the mood as they arrived for the event and the partying began.
As always, there was a contest for the best costume, and with so many outstanding ensembles on display, it was hard to choose. Â Judges were Mary, David and Phil, and with the help of Lisa McCorkle Guerrero, the final selection was at last chosen. Â Firstly, many people were given honorable mentions for their attempts, including Slash, Miley Cyrus, Mr. Twister, the Catch of the Day, Coconut Leo and the Canadian Snowstorm. Â In the ManagerÂs Favorite category, the winner was Dorian Nunez, who came as a Bulldozer. Â Meanwhile, LisaÂs Favorite was awarded to PK as Electric Man. Â The winner for Most Elegant went to Michelle Nunez and her handmade Mystical Mermaid costume, whilst Tania PechÂs baby bump, which was dressed as pumpkin, won both the Crowd Favorite and Cutest Costume.
There were many more prizes given out, including Best Makeup to the Decaying Fisherman, Cutest Couples to Alex and Idy, and Rene Jr. and ChandelÂs Despicable Me Minions. The Best Group award went to Dia de Los Muertos.  Finally, the two top Most Creative wins were awarded to Enrique de Leon and Leonel Milian.
All in all, the night was a dazzling affair, with revelers having made a huge effort to kick the Halloween party off in style. Â With the Holiday Hotel having now managed to host one of the most creative celebrations ever, all eyes will now be on next yearÂs spooky and decadent costumes.
